Injectorall Electronics was established in 1955 on the principles of quality products and services. They are certified to MIL-S-13949-H. The substrates vary from .005" to .062". Standard sizes for uncoated material are from 3" x 4.5" to 3' x 4'. Special cuts are available upon request at no charge. Halogen-free base material for pcb´s DURAVER®-E-Cu 156 According to NEMA specification LI-1998, the resin used in an FR-4 base material must be formulated in such a way that it complies with the minimum requirements of flammability classification V-1, as defined by UL 94. This requires the addition of a flame-retardant to the epoxy resin. Ever since FR-4-type laminates were introduced in the early ‘60s, the only reactive flame-retardant product used to partially preserve bromide epoxy polymers was tetrabromide bisphenol A (TBBA). Bromine content of approximately 18% permits the production of FR-4 laminates that comply with flammability classification V-0. Although numerous tests have determined that the thermal decomposition of laminates treated with TBBA does not produce relevant quantities - from the point of view of toxicity - of dioxins or dibenzo-furans, Isola nevertheless feels that it is important to develop halogen-free base materials. We have long been obliged to carry out research in this field, due to such factors as environmental protection, recycling possibilities and also the prospect of new EU directives. We did in fact succeed, a number of years ago, in replacing halogen-containing flame retardant additives, conforming to quality specification SUPRA®-CARTA-Cu 96 (FR-2), with phosphor and nitrogen-based substances. In co-operation with Siemens AG, we then managed to develop the first type FR-5 halogen-free glass epoxy laminate. This project succeeded thanks to the addition of reactive phosphor and nitrogen-based components. The resultant product is now marketed under the name DURAVER®-E-Cu 150. The next objective was of course to develop a type FR-4 glass epoxy laminate at an acceptable cost. The use of a phosphor-modified epoxy resin base means that suitable prepreg and laminate systems are now available on the market - and the quality reputation of items bearing the brand name DURAVER®-E-Cu 156 has now been confirmed many times by manufacturers of printed circuit boards.
